Biography

Mezzo-Soprano Gabriella Bell-Divincenzo recently completed her Bachelor of Music and Diploma in opera at Wilfrid Laurier University.

In her time at Laurier, Gabriella performed in various Opera Laurier excerpts productions where she performed in excerpts from W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro as Cherubino, H. Purcell's Dido and Aeneas as Belinda (2023), G. Bizet’s Carmen as Mercédès and in the chorus for excerpts from G. Verdi’s La Traviata (2022). She also performed in Opera Laurier’s productions of M. Adamo’s Little Women as one of the four voices [soprano 3] and covered the role of Meg (2023) and S. Sondheim's Into the Woods as Cinderella (2024). Additionally, Gabriella performed in the chorus of Ashley Seward’s new contemporary opera Borderless in 2022.

 

Other performances include Hansel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel and excerpts from Massenet's Cendrillon as Prince Charmant, Les Contes d'Hoffmann as Nicklassue, and Mozart's La clemenza di Tito as Annio with Grand River Opera, chorus in Donizetti's L’elisir d’amore with the North York Concert Orchestra (2024), Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen with No Strings Theatre/Opera by Request, chorus in Bernstein’s Candide with the North York Concert Orchestra and chorus in Verdi’s La Traviata with the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and again with Brott Music Festival.

 

Gabriella is currently a Canadian Emerging Voice with the Amadeus Choir.
